How can surgery be possible without you bleeding to death from it?
I mean, we see tiny as well as large surgeries upon healing TV shows all a time. Considering which we're full of red blood vessels, so which we routinely drain a lot even from a smallest of cuts, how can't we die from hemorrhage during surgery?
Although we are full of alot of blood vessels, fortunately we are also full of alot of blood. When you are cut, either by a surgeon or by accident, you don't just simply continue to bleed. Your body immediatety responds with steps to stop the flow. This is started by chemicals released by the damaged cells at the ends of the blood vessels. The blood vessel goes into spasm and shrinks down at the open end, thus making the opening smaller. Things called platelets also begin to collect there and clog up the opening to help stop the bleeding. During surgery, the surgeon also helps this process by tieing off the blood vessels with string known as suture. While it is possible to bleed to death from a cut, it would have to be from a failure of the body's clotting mechanisms (like Hemmophelia) or from an overwhelming number of holes in alot of blood vessels. If you 'normally' bleed alot from even the smallest cut, you should go to your medical doctor and get a blood test to see if you have problems clotting.
