I had intestinal operation 2 weeks ago today. The doctor’s in an additional partial of a country, so there is no follow-up appointment. He didn’t discuss it me when we could practice again. My stitches have been dissolved as good as I’m relocating around well, so is it okay?

I’d still ask a doctor. Call his office… maybe they can refer you to a physician that you can ask, or maybe they can ask for you… or maybe there’s a nurse on staff…
Good luck!

you should probably see a doctor before going through with exercise. there could still be some internal healing that needs to be done. i would consult a doctor before exercising.

Call the doctors office. He will have someone covering for him or the office will be able to answer the question.

I would wait a full month to make sure you do not pull or tear anything

Abdominal and 2 weeks…I would say wait.
Women that have C-Sections are told to wait at least 6 weeks. The muscles need time to heal or you could get a hernia. Just because the stitches are gone, doesn’t mean you are completely healed.

It really depends how serious the surgery was. It doesn’t sound like you had major abdominal surgery.
But I would call your surgeon’s office. If for some reason you can’t call, contact your family doctor.

Start walking around. They usually have you do that right after surgery or if it was major they have you walk around the day after. You should call your doctor and ask about when you should start any other type of exercises though.

I had an operation including stiches and my doctor, I also do not have a follow up, said no excercise for 4-6weeks as it although looks like it has healed can still split and only takes one fall or over doing it to split it.

I actually had gallbladder surgery today. My doctor told me to wait 6 weeks and even after then to start out slow and ease into it. We don’t want to pull qny of the freshly healed muscles and risk more unwanted pain.
