How long before surgery are you not allowed to drink alcohol?

I only incited eighteen as well as my operation is in 2 weeks as well as my mother told me which I’m not authorised to splash ethanol during slightest 2 weeks prior to my surgery. But ethanol leaves your complement really fast as well as we know that. Is what she pronounced true?

acute alcohol ingestion actually doesn’t have too much of an impact on anesthesia. the main risk is that gastric emptying is delayed, so you are at an increased risk to vomit and aspirate (inhale stomach contents down into your lungs). if we smell alcohol or your breath or is we test your blood and find any alcohol in your system, we’ll cancel your surgery. for most people, just quitting the night before is adequate. you don’t need to be sober for 2 weeks. of course, the ancillary question of whether you should be drinking at all remains unresolved.
