How long does it take to recover from hernia surgery?

My father is due to have operation to scold an umbilical hernia 3 days prior to my brother’s wedding. Is he expected to be recoevered sufficient to attend? ( He’s not in a most appropriate figure as well as he’s over 50 )
I consider he should wait, he thinks he’ll be fine?

Never had that surgery, but can only imagine that three days is not enough time to sit comfortable at a long wedding and reception. Your husband would be miserable not being able to eat all the good food.

Depends on whether it is lapriscopic which is only a 3 day at home deal and then take it easy. If it is the total incision and sew up kind, your looking at 2-3 weeks away from work and real careful in lifting anything for next few months. Careful either way.
