How long does the pain last after a cataract surgery?
My mom had the operation 3 weeks ago. Her eye is still really supportive as well as unpleasant to touch, cough, sneeze, nap positions, etc. How prolonged did it take we to be utterly suffering free?
honestly there should be NO pain associated with cataract surgery. if she is having pain there may be something wrong. she needs to see the dr that preformed the surgery and figure out why she is in pain.

I would recommend calling her doctor. The pain should be decreasing in intensity over time, not worsening or remaining the same.

My wife said most of the pain was gone before the day was out. It was all gone in two or three days.

If she is still having pain, she should see her surgeon. Something is wrong.
