Is surgery necessary for a grade 1 or 2 patellar luxation?

My 1 year aged pug only had operation upon her left leg for the class 3 patellar luxation. She right away has it in the alternative leg, though the milder case. we was wondering what recommendation people had to suggest in regards to the second operation upon her right leg. we have been told most dogs go by their total hold up with it untreated as well as have been fine. we was wondering what we could find out from alternative house pet owners' experiences.

No. I placed a little one with a grade 1, she has done agility trials and gotten titles, field trials, obedience, rally……. She is amazing and all with that grade 1 slipping patella not stopping her or causing her any problems. I also have a little rescue in right now, he has had his for life, I am certain. He is 11 years old and will lift that leg when running but it obviously is not causing him pain. He has adjusted to it slipping and just automatically runs on the three good legs because of that.
