What are the pros and cons of choosing to do surgery over internal medicine?

I still have a lot of time to consider about what we wish to do(I’m still in 8th grade) though we consider we wish to be in a healing field. Also, we listened which Surgery is apropos reduction as well as reduction indispensable due to advances in medicine. Is which true?

The best advice I can give you is don’t make any choices now. Wait until medical school when you actually get to try the various different specialties. There are a number of surgical sub-specialties that can give a good lifestyle and there are medical sub-specialties that allow you to do procedures. Also keep an open mind while you are in college. There are other professions out there. But since you asked, surgery is going to be around for a long time. Many of the amazing advances that are being made are surgical.

We don’t choose our specialty based on pros and cons. We figure out what it is that we love to do, and we do that. Either you are a surgeon or you’re not, and you’ll figure that out within minutes of starting your surgical clinical rotation.

It is true that some surgical procedures are being replaced in some patients by less invasive techniques, but there will always be a need for surgeons.

    You study constantly
    Internal Medicine

    Cons:
So so so so so much to learn, you will need to read all the time. Study new diseases and conditions that are being discovered.
