		<description>Well. . . .the REASON doctors and nurses tell you not to wear nail polish during surgery, is so they can see the &quot;state&quot; of the nail to see if there&#039;s any complications going on in your body.  If the NAIL BED begins to turn &quot;blue&quot;, that COULD indicate you&#039;re not getting enough oxygen.  That&#039;s one example .

I have to tell you, I wear &quot;solar&quot; nails with a french manicure and the hospital staff NEVER told me to have them taken off or get rid of the polish.  That&#039;s NOT to say you SHOULDN&#039;T do it. . . .I&#039;m just telling you that I NEVER HAVE !!!!  But then. . . .I&#039;m also a contrarian !!!!</description>

		<description>They need to put a pulse oximiter on your finger to measure the amount of oxygen in your blood.  This device can not work if you have nail polish or gel nails.  You should remove at least one nail for the surgery.  They usually prefer your index finger.</description>
