What type of surgery is most interesting?

I wish to be a surgeon when we get comparison as well as suspicion about mishap operation though do not wish to tighten a doorway to alternative options. If we have been a surgeon or have worked upon an OR team, greatfully discuss it me about what sort of operation we do as well as how engaging it is.
What sort of surgeon specializes in a GI tract?

General surgery has a lot of variety, so it’s one of the most interesting, IMO. Orthopedic surgery can be fun if you like power tools. I find cardiothoracic surgery boring and neurosurgery tedious, but I’m not actually DOING the procedures, just keeping the patients alive.

As for "closing the door", you don’t choose a specialty until you’re finishing med school, and if you’re interested in a surgical subspecialty, you have 5-7 years of general surgery residency to mull over your future plans.

Pangolin’s answer is just about perfect in my opinion. I would disagree with her saying that cardiothoracics is boring, as it is quite intense operating on the organ that controls your entire circulatory system. I am in a pediatric surgery fellowship, and plan on further specializing in pediatric critical care/trauma surgery. To me, trauma surgery is the most interesting because you are forced to think on your feet so quickly, and are forced to make life-or-death decisions in a matter of minutes or even seconds. Also, another interesting option is urological surgery, as it is this specialty that most commonly gets to use the da Vinci robot to perform the surgery. Other specialties get to use the robot, but none as often as urological surgery.

As Pangolin said, you will most likely do a 5 year general surgery residency, where you will be exposed to all of the surgical specialties, and get to assist with them. From there it will be much easier to choose the specialty that interests you most, and also what you are best at.
