I’m getting my tummy tuck April 15! I’m scared but think I picked a great doctor, he went to Harvard Medical with dr. 90210. So I’m optimistic.

I had this done in June 2007 in the UK and I am happy to report I had no problems. I was kept in for 2 days and I didn’t take any painkillers after that. I am a hairdresser and I was actually doing clients a week later (only because my daughter had run up a £300 mobile phone bill so I needed the money!) I had two small thin bruises either side of my waist, but that was it, and I had to wear a compression girdle for 6 weeks to keep it all smooth. I am over the moon with my lovely tum.

I’m not a doctor, but I’m a nurse still in school. I can tell you that adipose tissue (the tissue that stores fat cells) does not go away upon weight loss. Most patients like this don’t have that much excess fat, but it’s excess adipose tissue that won’t go away because the fat cells within have already shrunken to their smallest possible size, or close to it. Usually, the only way to change this is to surgically remove the adipose and tighten the skin. Lipo wouldn’t help the skin tighten.

I had an abdominoplasty 9 weeks ago and truly regret it. Huge scar, wasn’t able to work for 8 weeks due to severe pain and infection. My body doesn’t look the same. My original belly button is gone. My tummy may be flat, but there is no waistline; i have a boy’s waistline now. The pain afterwards was the worst part…if you get this done, you’ll be on strong pain meds for a LONG time.

    hey dr.

the woman in the video had very little excessive fat and loose skin, could she has done a liposuction rather then the tummy-tuck and have gotten better or same results, because im thinking of getting this done but don’t know if lipo would do the same minus the gigantic scar.

    thanx

I am truly amazed by these results. Having had two children, the largest which was over 11 pounds at birth, I would LOVE to have something like this done. Not only for my outside appearance, but for my inside appearance as well! Someday?

No. This procedure takes quite a bit of time and healing before you are back to normal activites. It is a major surgery.
