    this is a great procedure..love it..brain surgeons rock..think about the pressure and everything, one mistake may cause a person to be blind, paralyzed or unable to speak..brain is the most complicated organ of all..

    The interesting thing about the brain is that the brain itself has no actual pain receptors. So the only thing the patient really needed was some local anesthetic for the skull. More likely than not the patient was awake, if sedated, throughout the procedure. Which is creepy.
