WOW! we watched the discovery channel surgery video & this is horrible & unprofessional compared to those nice experienced doctors who knew wat they were doing. NO BLOOD! CLEAN INSTRUMENTS! and didn’t use the same gauze more than once…didnt use one gauze at all! very disturbing ur lucky to still have ur feet

mmm… I was just noticing… why does she have her toes painted???? Isn’t that wrong??? Really weird stuff….. I should go with a orthopedist, not a podiatrist….

This video reminds me of a bad procedure being done in Mexico. Very scary, it don’t even look professional. Where is this place? Very scary.

I agree…I thought the same thing. Nail polish? I’ve had 2 bunion surgeries but I had mine at the hospital & it was a lot more serious than that.

I went to my Doctors and they reffered me to a podiatrist. I had it done there 3 week ago on the NHS and im recovering really well. I will have my other 1 done in 6 months time or maybe less.

I am a surgical technologist in the OR and I am shocked at a couple of things in this video. First, doing a bunion correction in an office setting (NOT in an office OR) is dangerous for the patient. What if they had an adverse reaction to the local anesthetic??? Secondly, I am horrified that the surgeon did not have the nail polish removed prior to the surgery. This is an AORN standard of care !! Don’t know who this surgeon is but very happy he isn’t MINE.

Yep, about $550. The total was about $3,300 but my ins co got discounts from the provider for being a preferred provider which brought it to about $2,200 and my portion was about $550. And, it was for removing a nerve as well as fixing the bunion.

thx for the info !!! so u spent 550$ right?
    and the average is 2,200$?

I looked up the ins info and w/the disc, it was around $2,200 – including the removal of the nerve. I pd about $550 out of pocket. If you’re thinking about having it and are in the Indpls/G’wood area, I highly recommend Dr Wendy Winckelbach-she’e the best!

That is so they can test your blood flow and oxygenations. If you press one of your finger nails your color should go white then back to pink in under 3 secs. She should have at least had one nail uncovered so they could make sure she had adequate blood flow.
