I got this done last last sunday, about 5 days ago. I wouldn’t reccommend watching the surgery, until you’ve had it done. I just watched this and, a for a 17YO male, I was hysterically/squirmishly laughing at it (for some odd reason).
My nose was generally fucked before I had it done. It was humped, broken and had limited airway relief. I’m due to get the dressing and splints taken out on monday, about 4 days. Apparently, it feels amazing.
glad to hear all positive comments from the people who have done the surgery.. I m 5 days away from the operation and i m freaking out!!! I m up to that point when you actually start to get sick coz you are nervous and scared at the same time. Ive got problems with breathing due to nasal septum deviation since little, i just couldnt imagine breathing normally ever again, i dont even remember that awesome feeling. Fingers crossed everything will go well
I had this surgury done 3 years ago. I had no idea a person could breath so well. It was amazing and no regrets. I tell everyone with deviated septum to get it done. I use to sniffle all the time and now not at all.
I am getting septoplacty and bilateral reduction done in 4 months for my Deviated Septum which I had all my life. Do you have to get Rhinoplasty too? like in this video?
I just got this done! Fuckin amaazing!!!!! I can breathe better, i can taste better, and smell better! Get it done if you are young! Its worth it in the long run
straighten your nose out lol? I’ll be getting this once I’ve finished my GCSE’s at the end of the year, my finger can go about twice as far up one nostril than the other.
I had the operation a week ago. Within a day I could breathe through my left nostril for the first time in years. It improved my whole body, my balance, and I can walk twice as fast. Everybody should know about this!
I had this operation done 3 days ago, have already been released home. how was it? well, to be honest, it was not pleasant, but definitely worth it. my nose it still swollen, yet i can say that i can breathe more than with the unoperated nose earlier on. i imagine how easy i will be able to breathe later on. operation is not scary, you fall asleep and thats it, the most difficult thing is the time after the operation, to have the tampons removed and the final ‘cleaning’ of the nose…
YIKES!!! had the same surgey except they also had my adnoids taken out..whatever those things are! its scary seeing this and reminding yourself oh ya that was you last summer! SCARY!
I had this surgery done 14 days ago, it was done under sedation and I could talk to my surgeon the whole was through the operation. My nose is still a little stuffy but my headaches and eye pain has gone. Was frightend of this procedure, but the surgeon was very understanding and the operation was performmed my way not under a general anathestic. Can breath at long last and would say to anyone suffering go and have it done.
Im not a doctor but I once had the same condition as yourself. It is no big deal whatsoever(at least in my case) although it leaves you extremely susceptible to sinusitus and the like. I underwent a septoplasty to correct the deviation 2 years back and iv had no complications till now.cya
Hi there, I have a deviated septum, is this an abnormal condition? The bridge of the nose departs to the right, which makes it look extremely uneven on both sides, can u please answer back. Thanks.
Thank you for your question. When you straighten the septum, the nose will appear straighter. The tip projection may be an illusion due to the straighter nose. A septoplasty will not actually increase the projection of the tip. Hope this helps answer your question.
Ive had “conservative” turbinate surgery and the results were catastrophic. I talk to several people who have had “conservative” turbinate surgery and they live a tortured life. Some of them contemplate suicide. Its extreme torture the ent industry minimizes these people suffering, and just says that it is rare. I would look into empty nose syndrome and atrophic rhinitis before trusting the ent with your turbinates.
Hey there i had septoplasty performed yesterday. It had been deviated after a kick playing soccer at school about 12 years ago. Anyways i know your nose is not supposed to change externally, but my nose looks straighter, and my tip seems to have more projection is this rare??
i can watch the most grusome movies, but because i had this surgery done, i can not watch this video. they did my surgery when i was still growing, so now i am off to boston to get this surgery done once again.
Im getting my deviated septum fixed and getting my adenoids removed in two weeks and I just watched this video. LOL I’m just glad to it fixed because I could never breathe out of my nose only my mouth. This video is not that horrifying but if you don’t like blood then don’t watch it. I hope this surgery works so I can finally BREATHE! LOL
Hi I’m have surgeory for my deviated septum I’n 3 weeks time and want to know when I wake up from surgery I know I have two Bungs up my nose as my surgeon has told me this but they will be removed within a couple of hours. All I want to know is when the Bungs are removed can you breathe at all or are you totally bunged up and how long until you can breathe totally again thanks Leigh

Damn…… I don’t think I can imagine how my surgery will be carried out. I have to have tissue removed that prevents me from breathing…severely.
