I’m an RN and this is a facinating surgery to watch first hand. Boy, the things these docs can do is simply amazing. GoldKamil, try notto be afraid. The only thing you’ll know is you go to sleep then you wake up. They’ll get you out of bed practically the next day. Please let us know how you are doing.

nope. To be technically dead, general cell death throughout your body has to occur.
During this operation, you will not be technically dead because a device does the blood pumping for you, allowing the Oxygen to be spread throughout your body to prevent general cell death.
PS: I hope GoldKamil’s operation went well, or that when it occurs, it will go well.
I have confidence that it will go well though, since doctors who usually this operation are very experienced.

Well, if they stop your heart, you’ll technically be dead.

it was too long ago, and i don’t think i ever learned the name of it, if they even have one describing something like that….
.
then again, we have words like ”defenestrate”, so who knows, there might be a medical name for it…..

Heh. That is just awesome. Most heart abnormalities dont help much. Do you know the exact name of the abnormality?

years back just after my grandfather passed they did an autopsy on his heart. as a child he was always sick and as he got older he grew stronger…. it turns out his heart was missing an artery and a new one grew from the bottom, around the back and up to the top to replace the one the was missing…. he got so healthy at one point in his life that he might have became a professional boxer, but an injury to his hands ended that dream…. the heart is amazing. nice video.

Well, i dont know where you got your information from, but this procedure is still in use in lots of hospitals around the world.
Sometimes a stent is nog enough to widen the coronair artery. In that case, this procedure is a MUST!
And yes, it is a very informative animation, thanks for putting this online!!

now, how in the world you wire the sternum back. I really have no idea. lol
