I dont understand why people would do this…contacts are a pain for like 2 months, after then its pretty much habit and part of the day, literally takes 30 seconds to get them in and out……this lasik surgery is kindof stupid
@MrDrako125 i never said you where contacts after the surgery lol but i can see where you mis understood, i didnt write it to thorough, anyway i was just saying im happy with contacts and i dont care for the surgery, but maybe in 10 years ill change my mind, maybe not. and yea i didnt know lasik and lasek were 2 different, im gonna look into that when i have more time.
@polander76 You’re wrong, yo don’t need use contact lenses after LASIK… that’s another procedure named LASEK, is similar but is more painful, and it’s “recommended” for people with thin corneas.
I don’t understand why you are so afraid of this, First, I don’t think contacts are safer as you say, I’ve used contacts for 20 years and I had severe complications in my early days with them. The glasses? Are practical… But I had to remove them for swimming in the sea and I couldn’t see anything! There’s nothing like wake up and see everything clear with no worry of where you left your glasses or that you have to clean your contact lenses! I really feel Lasik Improved my life!
@trondy89 Nobody can guarantee that you don’t need glasses/contacts after lasik, some need them to drive, others for tv and some even need them all the time. Also, there is regression with time, many come back to glasses after 5 years, others after 10 years,… Second surgery is not a good ideia, fda still doesn’t have lasers approved for that.
i was an extreme case, prescription was -12.5 diapters so i was totally dependent on my glasses. if i lost them or a contact lense, i wouldn’t be able to function, so my goal wasn’t to get 20/20 vision, just to get a lower prescription. in any case, i had the surgery 5 hrs. ago, it went perfectly, and i will probably not need an additional prescription. it was totally painless plus they give you some pain meds and valium to calm you. go to someone with a lot of experience.
I’m in day two, have no pain , no dry eyes, Didn’t wear contacts for 2 months before surgery and dropped moisturizing drops in my eyes 6 times a day every day 1 week before surgery. I also vacuumed the shit out of my room and washed all my bedding. Two days before surgery I slept on my back so not to rub my eyes and got about 9-10 hours of sleep those nights. If you do all this your eyes will be feeling like little pimps come surgery time. =)
I just had lasik yesterday and i must say i am sooooo satisfied with the results! before choosing to get lasik i spoke to people who were either for lasik or against it. After looking at my options i chose to get the lasik operation. My eye is nearly completely healed and i have wonderful eyesight, the best gift ever! if youre considering getting this done I say you consult an actual optometrist. Most people on here and other sites speak from a personal standpoint and not a medical one.
Contact lenses and glasses are much better and safe than lasik, they can correct your eyes to 20/20 for the rest of your life, no need to do future surgeries with more risks and recovery time. Also contact lenses are much more difficult to wear and dangerous after lasik. Eye after lasik is not healthy as before and is more prone to future complications. See my lasik playlist to know more.
Don’t talk if you don’t know about it, I had a lasik surgery and is not painful at all, the eyes are under anesthesia and it has no big complications! An excellent way to say goodbye to my glasses!
HOLY FUCKING SHIT this gotta be one of the most scariest surgeries right next to open heart surgery while awake…. who the hell can keep there eye open for so long and look at some knife thingy lazor thing hit you? FUCK THAT i rather stick with glasses or contacts my vision is pretty bad though its at 185 for both eyes i cant see much from far away.
