@trenadawn Yes I believe so, they only request that it has been documented with your primary doc that you tried to lose weight on your own for at least 6 months.

I’m 48 BMI and was told I’m not suitable, the nurse thinks I’m just a big bloke. I’m off to see another doc and then a specialist in January..

By far the most informative and relevant video of all. The advice on part 5 what one could do post op is particulary valid. Recently banded 8/7/08 and I wish I had all this information before.

What was the turn-around time for Tricare to approve you? I’m a 33 BMI: I’m not sure they’ll approve me.

Wow!!!
I’m 48.1, I’m looking forward to getting
lap band later on this year…. I hope they don’t tell me that.
I’m with tri care, my hubby is in the army, but I do know that they will only allow a bmi of 32 to 50, some will only allow 50 and over.
I need this surgery bad, I’m 22 and 280 lbs. I’ve had problems all my life with my weight, I lost weight and went down to 131, then 150… 190… 230… now 280.
