So making her nose straight (I mean, “not going right from the outside”) was rhinoplasty or septoplasty?

Dont you think that the times may be changing?
And if times are changing, where people are becoming more self-conscious for whatever reason, don’t you think that the psychological damages are a little more important than the breathing issues?
It is similar to having crooked teeth. Sure you can still eat your food, but how happy is a crooked smile?

Whenever I talk, even when I’m not sick or anything, it sounds like I’m congested or have a cold or something. Can I possibly have a deviated septum?

Hi,
you may want to go and see your doctor or even an ENT to evaluate your breathing. You could have a sinus issue or a nasal obstruction of some kind. Try that first. Hope it helps and good luck!

Hello!,
I realize this time in your life must be very difficult. I appreciate your interest but would advise you to wait a couple more years befor e deciding on surgery. You still have more growing and maturing to do and surgery is permanent. Be patient Be positive and you can always have surgery in the future if it is the best thing for you. Good Luck.

I’m turning 14, and I really hate my nose. I get teased at school, and it makes me miserable. I have talked to my mother about it, but she says that I don’t need surgery. I know I am ready though. She says I have her nose, but I have a big nose with a bump, and she has a small, cute, smooth nose. I come home from school everyday unhappy, and it is the only thing I see in the mirror.

Hi Hilary,
Yes it is true to wait until your face is fully mature and if you truly are unhappy it is great to have the support of your parents. You should speak with them further about your inquiry into surgery and let them help you make the best decision for you. I like to wait until a patient is at least 16 until I evaluate them. Stay positive and be patient and you can always fix what you are unhappy with down the road.Good luck and take care.

i have the exact same thing, mines crooked too, and it has a hook to it which i hate. i have trouble breathing out of one side. I’m 14 and i have support from BOTH my parents because they know how hard it was for me becaus i got made fun of a lot when i was younger and a bit now. you don’t HAVE to be 16 to get it though, your face just has to be mature enough and the doctor has to agree that you’re emotionally mature enough to make the decision.

I agree with scir91. I have wanted a nose job since i was in 3rd grade after getting teased. I am 17 years old now and am getting my surgery in May. Let me just tell you that because of my insecurities with my nose, i let it take over my life. I have saved up lots of $ and now my dream is coming true!! Good luck but make sure that it is right for you.

it varies around the world. in america, on average, it is about $5,000, sometimes higher or lower based on geography, the surgeon’s experience and reputation and how much work is involved. you would be SHOCKED as to how many hollywood and international film stars have rhinoplasty.

OMG I LOVE YOU!!! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM WITH MY NOSE WAS A FEW DAYS AGO!!!. The only thing different was my nose was wayy more crooked, like no joke, everyone in school was making fun of me about that throughout middle school, and 3 years off High School, I had people talking about my nose, nevertheless, I was still like very popular cause of my athletic abilities, I was a star Football and Basketball player. So I went and got surgery a few days ago and now I’m soo much happier.

why are you “wishing”? all you need is to be age 16, get parental permission (if you are 16 or under the age of majority), and save up enough money. don’t wish! LIVE YOUR WISH! it’s all possible.
