Thanks, but I actually haven’t had the 2nd surgery yet. I’m hoping to hear from the surgeon next week. Unfortunately, he is very busy and there’s usually a long waiting list. I was lucky to see him so soon the first time around. I really hope I can get this taken care of soon and everything goes well. This condition is really starting to affect all other areas of my life. I just want to get on with it, and start living up to my potential. Thanks again for asking.

Thank you so much for your quick response, I really appreciate it. For me, the surgery was done on the underside of the lid, which I heard can be the least accurate. This time I will follow your advice and take it easy for a while. I meant to say he told me to look up/down 10 times, four times a day. Still though, that seems like added stress to the lid. Thanks again.

There are multiple ways to correct a droopy eyelid. It depends on the cause of it. I am not sure what procedure you had. Typically we tell patients to avoid exercise for 3 weeks. I do not know why he wants you to look up and down 10 times a day since every time you look around you are doing that anyways. I hope this helps. Good luck with your next procedure. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact my office at 310 777 8880 to set up a consultation.

    Sincerely,
    Kami Parsa, MD

I was born with a slight ptosis in my right eye. I went in for corrective surgery about a month ago, but unfortunately it’s worse now than it was before. I’ll soon be heading for a second surgery, so I’m wondering what the normal post surgery care is. Are there any limitations? After my surgery I was told I could resume my normal routine right away, which includes a lot of working out. This seems odd to me. I was also told to look up/down 10 times each day. Any help appreciated. Thanks

I have the same condition and honeslty I hate my life because of it.
Everyday is an ongoing battle with myself i hate looking at myself in the mirror I hate taking pictures because no matter what i can never hide the way my eye looks
I hate going to school, I hate anything social. I even hate leaving my house just because of this condition, I don’t know but i’m just sick of everything. I see my eye doctor in june hopefully he can fix it.

I’m glad your surgery went well, best of luck to you

She said at the beginning… she had a surgery to remove a scar from her forehead and the surgeon went up through her eyelid to get to the scar and he damaged/detached the mussle from her eyelid so she didn’t have control over it… so she went to have him fix it and he ended up making it worse… so she went to the new surgeon and he fixed it…

I have a lazy eye. I also hated taking pictures, having my boyfriend look at me, or look some one striaght in the face. Even though I am getting a surgery to fix my lazy eye in Feb of this year, I know how you feel, & what you are going threw.

you are so brave:) i’m glad everything worked out for you. I had a lazy eyelid that almost covered half my eye and I had surgery on it when I was 14. Both my parents are Opthamologists (eye doctors) so I knew i would be in good hands with the surgeon they chose. Again, I’m glad everything worked out for you!
