im a dude i have a Ptosis have had it since i was born i had surgry when i was like 4 or sumthing im 17 now its a bit better but still noticeable i recon. it bothers be heaps everyday i feel ya everyone else.

Thanks, but I actually haven’t had the 2nd surgery yet. I’m hoping to hear from the surgeon next week. Unfortunately, he is very busy and there’s usually a long waiting list. I was lucky to see him so soon the first time around. I really hope I can get this taken care of soon and everything goes well. This condition is really starting to affect all other areas of my life. I just want to get on with it, and start living up to my potential. Thanks again for asking.

Thank you so much for your quick response, I really appreciate it. For me, the surgery was done on the underside of the lid, which I heard can be the least accurate. This time I will follow your advice and take it easy for a while. I meant to say he told me to look up/down 10 times, four times a day. Still though, that seems like added stress to the lid. Thanks again.

There are multiple ways to correct a droopy eyelid. It depends on the cause of it. I am not sure what procedure you had. Typically we tell patients to avoid exercise for 3 weeks. I do not know why he wants you to look up and down 10 times a day since every time you look around you are doing that anyways. I hope this helps. Good luck with your next procedure. I was born with a slight ptosis in my right eye. I went in for corrective surgery about a month ago, but unfortunately it’s worse now than it was before. I’ll soon be heading for a second surgery, so I’m wondering what the normal post surgery care is. Are there any limitations? After my surgery I was told I could resume my normal routine right away, which includes a lot of working out. This seems odd to me. I was also told to look up/down 10 times each day. Any help appreciated. Thanks

my left eye lid is droopy and it makes me look retarded. i have astigmtism on my left eye only, does my eye droop because my astigamatism or droopy eye progresses?
