my fathers stack car broke an a-arm going into turn 1 at San Antonio speedway, the only thing that saved him was the hutchinson device, after the accident he went to the doctor because of back pain, the doctor did and exray and found a herniated artery, they inserted a stint and saved it, if he hadnt of wrecked the car and hard enough, the doctor said the artery would have gone unnoticed and could have ruptured any day killing him, i know the risks of racing, and it takes a special person

I’m devastated after hearing this tragic news . I wish him a good and speedy recovery and hope that this injury will not hamper his F1 career . What was he doing driving in a rally ? – i don’t know , but each to his own . I’m just glad that he’s alive . After all he is a “hero” to many of us Poles ( I know he’s to me anyway) and nobody likes to see a hero die . Get well soon Robert : ) and show them how it’s done again ! :)

(cont) paraphrasing: the hand is stabilised now, it is warm and not swollen. There is danger in the next 5-7 days of vascular problems which may require further surgery. It is not possible to speculate how much function will be regained in the hand, recovery will take 1 year.

trying to transcribe what he’s saying:
    each bone broken 2 points
-tendons are broken in 2 points
    - …nerves, very complex injury
-what we’ve done is to repair the whole anatomy of the forearm…possible…first we reconstructed the…4 plates, 2 screws, afterwards…contruction repair of tendons, flexor tendons, a lot of tendons injured, involved in a complex way, finally we suture the nerves, medial nerve and the ulna nerve, which is the most challenging problem with this kind of injury (cont)

I’m sorry, but this doctor might be a very good surgeon, but his English is not understandable. Can anyone tell me what he said?

@KevinCali24 his arm and leg weren’t the main priority, i was his hand which wasn’t broken, it was partially severed
