The da Vinci Surgical System consists of an ergonomically written surgeon’s console, a patient-side transport with 4 interactive robotic arms, a high-performance InSite® Vision System as well as exclusive EndoWrist® Instruments. Powered by state-of-the-art robotic technology, a surgeon’s palm movements have been scaled, filtered as well as seamlessly translated in to accurate movements of a EndoWrist Instruments.

    There are over 300 da Vinci Surgical Systems being used in hospitals located outside of the United States; 211 of those hospitals are located in Europe. Currently, the da Vinci Surgical System is being used in USA, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, India, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, Norway, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, Australia, Taiwan, Thailand and Turkey.

    jkiene, interestingly enough, the da Vinci Surgical System is widely available throughout Europe and Canada. To your point, these countries which have a socialized medicine model are already using this technology.

    Guess what, this technology will cease to exist with Government or universal Health Care. Innovation will be minimized, Want examples…? look at the health care in the socialist world, CA, Europe etc….

    hi everyone…i’m from malaysia n am wondering if anyone could send me a video of robotic surgery…i’m still doing foundation in medicine but was asked to do a research bout robotic surgery..n i have to present another 2 weeks..if anyone could help me that will be great ..

    hey thanx for your kind reply. I am a junior doctor working as a senior house officer in uk in orthopaedics and upper GI minimally invasive surgery this yr. I am interested to complete my core surgical training in uk and then spend a year as an anatomy demontrator at uni and do an MSc in surgery/statistics. During this time i am gonna aim passing the uk surgery membership exam (MRCS)and passing the USMLE exam.

    that video is amazing. Very informative, well illustrated. I would be very interested to be trained on using the davinci system
