Hi there. I cannot feel the metal screws and it doesnt affect my day to day life. I can’t feel it when I eat or drink so you don’t need to worry. Good luck.

Hi. Thanks for the comment. Yes I had the surgery on both my jaws. It was free as I had it done on the National Health Service here in the UK.

Wow! You had great results. Did you have the surgery on both jaws? Roughly how much did it cost you?

I remember having pain the first night and so my nurse gave me some medicine to help me get to sleep. The rest of the weeks I just found the swelling to be uncomfortable and tight. Also I had fluid leaking from my nose the first few weeks but this is normal and helps with the healing process and getting rid of the swelling. I found having the elastic bands clenching my jaws shut more painful than the operation! The song is by Shantel called Disco Partizani.

Hi there. I went back to work after 5 weeks and looked normalish to my colleagues maybe still abit puffy faced but not that bad. However I could still feel tightness in my face. I felt the tightness most when I smiled but noone else could really tell. I remember still having a bit of tightness in my face around the 12 week mark but it is something that noone else could notice and didn’t bother me in my day to day life. Good luck with your op!

Well done for getting it done! I don’t remember so much pain but my op was nearly 2 years ago now and the recovery process is just a small memory I have lol. Hope you get better soon and enjoy your new face!

Wow, big difference, congratulations. I am going to have the surgery in December, I’m pretty thrilled. I am a little concerned about the pain and the swelling: more or less when does one look more like one self? And the pain: how was it? I am a pain freak, that’s my only issue
Hey, what’s that song? Pretty chill :]

Well I got it done, and I must say… its the most painful experience I’ve ever delt with. (STILL DEALING WITH IT) My jaw is still banded shut but they are going to clip the bands on Thursday the 19th (2 days). They advanced my maxilla forward and down to line up with the bottom and set my chin back. Kaiser Permanente is a medical provider for health insurance and I didn’t have to pay anything for this because my employer bought into a plan that doesn’t require me to pay. IT WAS FREE!!!! YAY!!!

Hey there Ryckiss. No need to worry – I had a little pain a few hours after the surgery but the nurses gave me some medicine (I can’t remember the name) to help me to go to sleep. I didn’t have pain after that. The surgery is really worth it and I am very happy with the result! Good luck and remember to post some pics of yourself!

Hi there. I had both jaws done. I had the upper jaw moved forward and the lower jaw moved back. Good luck with your surgery – I am sure you will be very happy with the results. Btw what is Kaiser is it an insurance company or something?

Hi I went away about 10 weeks after surgery when I was nearly recovered. I don’t know about three weeks though – my face was still huge then and I didn’t go out the house until after four weeks!
